I'm Em and I think it is hilarious when your kid colors her thumb blue right before your session and when the dog takes off with the snack bag.
I grew up the oldest of six kids and I'm currently raising two incredible, but very busy toddlers... so when I say chaos is my second language, trust me. I'm right there with you and it doesn't phase me one bit.
I'm a mom. I'm sentimental. My phone is full of pictures. I know how quickly a season can disappear while you're busy living it and I've spent more than a decade photographing families, which means I've learned something important:

The days when everyone is finally together are such a gift. The ability to watch the cousins chasing each other, or to catch the twinkle in your mom's eye as she observes her grandchildren. Then there's the way your siblings can still make you feel like the goofball teenager they had the privilege of knowing 20 years ago. Capturing the whole crew and all the nuanced moments is an honor... whether it is a planned reunion or just an evening of hanging out, extended family photos are do worth it.
In five months your family will look. different. Your son might grow 3 inches, your daughter might lose two teeth, your baby might take his first steps. There's never a bad season to document your family and savor the uniqueness of this season a little longer.
