It has been a while since I loved a non-Marvel, non-comedy movie. I tend to know what I like and stick with that. For movies that means it’s either superheroes, comedies, or old classics. I saw a trailer for ‘The Greatest Showman” a few months ago and I told Xav that I wanted to see it. I had no idea what it was really about, but the cast looked interesting and random and it intrigued me for some reason. We waited a while after it came out to go see it… and I had heard that people liked it but I didn’t hear many details about it. When the credits rolled, I felt tears in my eyes but I also couldn’t stop smiling! If you haven’t seen it yet, here are six reasons why you should see it:

1. THE SOUNDTRACK – ‘Tightrope’ should TOTALLY be used as a first dance song.  The lyrics are perfect, the tempo is perfect – I mean c’mon, it’s so perfect! If you use it at your wedding… pleaseeeeee invite me (or have me take the pictures… I would be smiling so much!) On top of that, I can’t get over the rest of the soundtrack either – I’m obsessed with every single song, they are all sooooo good! This is me.
2. THE MESSAGES – recurring themes in this movie (without giving away spoilers) are: A) everyone is unique, quirky, beautiful and worth it.
   B) there will always be “more” and “bigger and better”… but what will you do with what you are given? How will you be faithful and content, while also working hard? (GUYS IT IS SO GOOD!!!)
3. The acting talent – if you can make Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, and Zac Efron work well together then you’re doing something right. If you can make them come together, sing, dance and perform acrobatics… then obviously 10/10 would recommend!
4. The high school musical scenes – I laughed so hard… because Zac Efron dancing will always make me see golf courses.
5. The inspiring visual designs. It was clearly made for creative audiences, but it made me want to learn to dance, paint, draw… all of it! A million creative dreams are now keeping me awake!
6. I’m going to see it again and you should come with me! Tomorrow night at 7pm!
