There is a lot of change happening in Brumwell Town these days! I haven’t shared any of it yet because it has all been so up in the air, but this week three major life updates started to fall into place! It is so weird to me that they all happened in the same week… especially because we have been talking about them for months.
Update one: Xavier got an internship for this summer!! He is almost done with year three of his doctorate and he was hoping for a chance to get an internship this year. He will still be second shooting most of my spring and summer weddings with me (I’m so thankful for his dedication to serving our couples), but it will be a different summer for him as he takes on this new project!
Update two: I’m about to become a retired nanny… which means I’ll be transitioning to being a full time wedding and family photographer! This summer is already almost completely booked (which is INSANE and such a blessing), but it will be a major change to not see the kiddos every day and a transition that will be bittersweet. Nannying has truly been one of the most life-impacting things I’ve ever done, and I’m so humbled and honored that God allowed me to have so many months with Luke, Liv, and Ella.
Update three: WE ARE BECOMING PARENTS! No, we aren’t pregnant… but we are SO excited to announce that we are pursuing a foster care license to hopefully start foster care by the end of the year! The extent to which God has guided our hearts, opened our eyes, and trained us for this has been unbelievably beautiful. We are starting to wade into the paperwork and nursery creating right now, and it is super surreal! The responsibility to love on and care for someone else’s child during a difficult season is not something we take lightly. At the same time, we are very eager to see the parental parts of our hearts develop. Xav is going to be an AMAZING foster dad!
Well, that’s the quick version! There are myriads of stories behind each of these updates and how God has been preparing our paths to these milestones for months (and years). We hope to share some of those stories soon, probably on Instagram!
