Whenever we photograph small, family weddings, Xavier and I often feel like we become part of the family. I’m not always sure when or how it happens, but at Ben and Megan’s wedding it happened when they asked us to sign their marriage license as the witnesses! It was such an honor to get to sign our names on their official proof of marriage and something I’ll never forget!

Ben and Megan are both such genuinely kind people and I loved that they wanted to spend their day with their nearest and dearest relatives and friends. Because the weather was horrendously frigid and since they wanted to focus on the sweet people that came to celebrate with them, our wedding day portrait time was short and sweet. We got several stunning, joy-filled, “just married” photos right after their ceremony, but then we retreated to the warmth for an epic cake cutting!

Right after they returned from their honeymoon, Ben and Megan got back in their wedding clothes and met me at a greenhouse for some more wedding portraits! It was so much fun to get to see them again and have a relaxed environment for more Mr and Mrs pictures! Looking back at the photos from both their wedding day and their post-honeymoon session makes me smile. Their joy is contagious!
