When I first met up with Gerry and Ashley to go over their contract and talk about wedding photography, we got frozen yogurt and talked about their fur baby Archer… a few weeks later they got a second puppy and Ashely sweetly kept me up to date with all of Maverick’s milestones. Getting those puppy pictures was the BEST (but it didn’t help my puppy fever go away).
As I got to know more about their wedding plans, Ashley had two wedding-day goals that stood out to me:
Goal 1) Avoid MSU campus landmarks during the portrait time.
Goal 2) Get Gerry to wear dress shoes and not Crocs.
I’m happy to report that we crushed those goals!
The UofM and MSU banter throughout the day was culminated in the gift Ashley’s family gave to Gerry at the reception. He wasn’t thrilled to open a UofM jersey with his name on it in front of all his family and friends…. but the awesome DJ, Rodney, made things even a few minutes later when he played the MSU fight song and accompanied it on his violin!!
Ashley’s style was a perfect mixture of classy and super fun and I loved the blush dresses her ladies picked out! I’m so glad that Xav and I got to shoot their day, we loved our extended portrait time with them.
