Someone asked me on Saturday what my favorite part is about being a mom. I keep thinking about it because I feel like I have so many answers! I love the bond we share with Felix, how he recognizes us with a sweet little grin or reaches for us when he needs comfort. I love seeing his personality, how funny he is getting, and how he likes making us laugh. I love getting to care for him and experience things with him. But one of the most fun things about being Felix’s mom has been watching him learn! This month we saw a huge jump of new skills and it felt like he suddenly became a little boy overnight.

He got his top two teeth (not pictured because he will not show them off) and that was a super sad process… but once they came in, he started really eating like a champ! Along with eating better came a desire to get food more quickly, so his pincher grip suddenly got accurate and his appetite tripled! Felix has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now thanks to some help I got from Natalie and I feel like it has given me new energy to stick with our running program. I am super thankful that Lex likes to go on runs with us and just look at the world from his jogging stroller. We get SO many smiles and “good mornings” when we run with him 🙂

We got to take Felix swimming with his buddy, Louis, and he loved it! He also got to visit a local farm with some of his grandparents, tag along for blueberry picking, visit the vet with Shuri, and watch a digger that was doing some work in our neighborhood. During this month’s photo shoot, I was laughing so much at Felix’s antics and I swear it made him get funnier and more silly. I love this little goof more than words can express.
