Business Announcement!

I knew my business would go through a transition phase when we decided to move and have a baby at the same time… I never expected that it would end up being one of our busiest photo seasons yet! Not only have we shot more weddings and family sessions than our original goal, but we have also had our own family photos taken several times as well. Whenever we get our own family photos taken, we talk about client experience and how we can work towards running our business to be better for our clients. Nothing puts it all into perspective for us like being on the other side of the camera. This spring, we had our family portraits taken by a photographer that had been on my “dream photographers” list forever and it was a massive disappointment that ended with her ghosting us and not delivering any images. Thankfully, my brother in law came and took some amazing portraits for us not long after! As a mom, I feel the value of photos even more as I watch how quickly time flies by and I want to capture all those little moments of growth and change.

Not only has our perspective on family photos changed, but Xav has taken on more with shooting weddings this year including lead shooting most of a wedding I was standing in! It has given us lots of room to brainstorm different ways we can serve our clients and possibly even expand what we offer.

With all of the changes taking place behind the scenes, we have decided to change the front of our business as well and officially rebrand!

Several people witnessed the beginning of Brumwell Town Photography in 2015 when I used a hashtag generator to find a wedding hashtag and it gave me #takemetobrumwelltown. At first I just used it for wedding planning posts but as our wedding became a group effort among our friends, it truly felt like a whole town was coming together to help us. Xav and I still talk about how incredibly loved we felt at our wedding and how everyone’s involvement in the set up and execution of the day added so much joy! The idea of a small town business and giving people that Brumwell Town experience just fit so perfectly with how I wanted to run my business for the last 7 years. Some of our dearest friends have started out as wedding clients and some of our wedding clients have been friends from childhood! We are excited to be taking the next step into a more personal experience for our clients and you’re invited to come along!

I am currently looking for a focus group of 7-10 people who have followed our business for the last few years who are willing to give feedback on things like logos and branding and test out our new website as it goes through phases of development. If you’re interested in being on this short list, comment below on this blog post and I will email you with the first round of voting 🙂

We are incredibly grateful for our clients and we can’t wait to show you all what we’ve been working on!
