It was a whirlwind of a first month with sweet Dorothy and it is so bittersweet to be working through her one month photos already. Xav is back to work this week and while I am sad to be leaving the slow family days, I am so immensely thankful for the break he had and all of the help we received from friends and family. The early newborn stage feels like the weirdest time warp where all of the days and nights blend together in this mush of insane sleeplessness, sweet snuggles, wild emotions, and so many physical changes… then one day you realize a whole month has passed and you’re kind of starting to feel like a human again. Vacuuming my floors was such a joy to be able to get back to doing this week and I feel like I am extra appreciative of the little things. This month had its fair share of crazy (including multiple trips to the ER and our dog getting skunked at midnight only a few days after Dottie was born) but this precious girl and all of her snuggles has made every sleepless night and ounce of crazy so worth it.
