A few years ago, I had the joy of photographing Hannah and Sam’s wedding—and last month, I got to step into a whole new chapter of their story: welcoming their baby boy with an in-home newborn session in Howell, Michigan.

The whole session was sweet, simple, and full of heart. We photographed everything right in their cozy home, letting the baby lead the way while I captured those tiny newborn details and the tenderness of this new season.

Sam couldn’t stop smiling—he looked so proud every time he held his son—and Hannah had that beautiful, quiet glow of a mom doing her best to soak it all in. The little yawns, the gentle cuddles, the way they both looked at him and each other… it was such a gift to document.

In-home newborn photography sessions are some of my favorites because they allow space for real moments to unfold—no rush, no posing pressure, just honest connection in the place where your family feels most at home.
