I posted last week about the joint photo session that Samantha and I plan every year for our families, and this week Preston sent our edited photos over! I’ve looked through these dozens of times and I’ve already printed some for our walls, but I am still getting choked up looking through this post. Seeing sweet Dottie in our family photos produces such an overwhelming amount of thankfulness and joy. Watching her interact with Felix and seeing our faces when we get a smile from her, it all feels like it will make my heart explode. Felix was a trooper this year and really thrived with the morning session time. He loves his suspenders from Uncle Will and Aunt Erin’s wedding so we let him wear them for photos and he was delighted… he even asked to wear them to church the next day. A lot of times lately when we ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, he says “grandpa” which is amazing and basically his current life (he pushes his bubble mower around the yard, wears socks up to his knees, and is obsessed with suspenders). It had been a few years since we had headshots updated, and with being sick and pregnant last year, I had put it off again. So I asked Preston to take a few for our website during out session (check them out here) and he willingly obliged. As I was updating the photos in our gallery wall (scroll to the end to see a cell phone shot of the wall), I was looking through our past few years of family photos by Preston… life moves so fast and I am so thankful for these snapshots into our years <3
